Ninja Crispi vs Fritaire: choose by how you cook and clean
By Alex Farwell. Sources checked September 8, 2026. Research methodology.
Start with Ninja Crispi if storage containers and dishwasher cleanup are your priorities. Consider Fritaire if you want rotating accessories and are willing to handle its bowl-cleaning routine. These are design-based recommendations; we have not tested which cooks better.
This comparison covers the portable Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 FN101GY and the US 5-quart Fritaire. The Crispi Pro is a different countertop system, covered in our Ninja review.
The differences that affect daily use
| Decision point | Ninja Crispi FN101GY | Fritaire US 5-quart |
|---|---|---|
| Container setup | Removable cooking pod; 6-cup and 4-quart containers with storage lids. | One glass bowl with a top heating lid. |
| Cooking controls | Four modes: Max Crisp, Bake, Air Fry, and Recrisp. | Selectable time and temperature, plus presets. |
| Cleaning choice | Ninja lists the accessories as dishwasher-safe; the electrical pod is excluded. | Fritaire lists stainless accessories as dishwasher-safe, but excludes the glass bowl and electrical parts. |
| Rotating food | The listed bundle includes crisper plates, not a rotisserie. | Rotisserie and tumbler accessories; check their separate load limits. |
| What to check before ordering | Spare-container compatibility and the bundle's included lids and plates. | Room to lift and set down the lid, plus the cleaning and accessory instructions. |

For meal prep and a crowded sink
Ninja's included storage lids make it the more relevant starting point if you want containers for both cooking and storing food. Its dishwasher guidance also favors a buyer who wants to avoid washing a large bowl by hand. Check that you have space for the containers in both the fridge and dishwasher.
For rotating accessories
Fritaire is the option to investigate if a tumbler or rotisserie is central to your cooking plans. Its FAQ lists a 1.5-pound rotisserie limit. The bowl's volume does not describe the accessory's load allowance. Our Fritaire accessory notes explain a conflicting published tumbler limit that needs confirmation before use.
For less cleanup
Fritaire's self-cleaning process uses water and dish soap to loosen residue; you still need to cool, empty, and rinse the bowl. It does not wash the electrical lid or replace cleaning the accessories. Read the manufacturer's cleaning instructions and the manual supplied with your model.
We have not timed either cleanup routine. Decide whether dishwasher-safe containers or Fritaire's bowl-cleaning process fits your kitchen, rather than assuming “self-cleaning” means no work.
What this comparison cannot tell you
We checked the linked manufacturer information on September 8, 2026. We have not measured cooking area, browning, noise, or long-term reliability. Neither glass construction nor a manufacturer's material claim lets us declare one appliance safer. See our methodology for the limits of this research.
Compare the exact bundle and current seller terms before buying. If neither format suits your kitchen, the seven-model buying guide includes other designs.
